JOB POSITION #141: LEAD SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD

HIRING RANGE: $16.00 per hour

DAYS WORKED: Monday - Friday HOURS WORKED: Varied

TYPE OF POSITION: Seasonal, Part-Time

JOB DUTIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Works under the supervision of the Support Services Specialist.

Assists with scheduling and assignment of Crossing Guards and Substitute Crossing Guards.

Assists with training of new Crossing Guards and with ongoing training within the division.

Fills in for absent crossing guards when needed.

Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City

Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Must be able to avail themselves to testify in court when they are the reporting party in a violation

As needed, assists with special traffic assignments relating to school functions.

May assist with Support Services duties within the division.

QUALIFICATIONS

A pre-employment drug/alcohol screen is required for this position.

This position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes, pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years Crossing Guard experience required.

Must possess valid New Mexico driver's license.

All applicants must provide enough information for a thorough background check.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must have a phone at residence.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, wind and extreme heat and cold conditions.

Basic computer knowledge and ability to use word processing software.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public.

Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.

Ability to operate tools and equipment listed.
