JOB DUTIES

The duties outlined below are in addition to duties performed in the currently held position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Actively coordinate and instruct physical fitness and wellness programs for their assigned shift.

As part of the fitness committee, attend scheduled meetings.

Monitor effectiveness of the department's fitness program, preparing and presenting recommendations to staff and the department personnel.

As shift staffing allows, and coordinating through the shift Battalion Chief, visit stations to assist individuals in developing personalized fitness training programs.

Administers the shift's annual physical fitness test.

Assists in physical agility test for firefighter applicants.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Other assigned duties relative to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of the most recent physical fitness exam.

Strong personal skills in planning, organizing and completing projects with little supervision.

Effective communication and public presentation skills.

Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology with applications to developing personal exercise programs.
