JOB POSITION #55:  GENERATION ENGINEERING INTERN 

NUMBER OF VACANCIES:  1

DEPARTMENT:  Electric Utility/Generation

TYPE OF POSITION:  Temporary, Part-Time

SALARY RANGE:  $20.00/Hour

DAYS WORKED:  Monday Thursday

HOURS WORKED:  6:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

WORK LOCATION:  Animas Power Plant

JOB DUTIES

Works under the general supervision of the Generation Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program.  This includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.

High school graduate or GED equivalent required. 

Must be enrolled in a College or University seeking a degree in Engineering.

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Extensive background checks required.

Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Follows verbal and or written instructions.

Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.

Establishes and maintains professional and cordial working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public.

Operates tools and equipment listed below.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Personal computer including Microsoft Office, calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
